This area has an area of 64 hectares, and is a protected area due to its high value environmental, as it allows the settlement of a multitude of species that inhabit the place and makes it one of the main routes for birds that migrate through Europe and Africa.

The progressive evolution and its good communications and, above all, the notable tourist development have promoted the creation of both different residential spaces and complementary facilities. Thus, the neighborhood is home to a primary school and early childhood education and several hotel establishments, a leisure center such as Kitesurfing, shops, a tourist parador and the Parador de Málaga Golf golf course.

This beach has moderate waves and dark sand and is 400 meters long and 30 meters wide. Guadalmar beach is the only authorized naturist in the city of Malaga.
