Finca La Gloria is in the lush and fertile Guadiaro river valley, 10 minutes drive from both Jimena de la Frontera and San Pablo de Buceite. It sits above the western bank of the river and looks out across the valley at the densely wooded river below, the distant avocado plantations and rolling hills beyond. The beautiful house is surrounded by an extensive and well maintained garden and is accessed by a stone drive up from the entrance gates.

There is a garage and storage area and opposite up some stone steps and through a pretty gate is a wonderful courtyard with lemon and palm trees and a central fountain in roman mosaic. The courtyard has a very charming Spanish country feel with its large pots of frangipani, palms, cactus and banana plants.

The house is built around the courtyard and an old wooden door leads into the extensive living room with its high beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and French windows looking out over the garden and the view beyond. Off the living room and connected by a passageway are two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a small corner fireplace, high vaulted ceilings and a massive stone bath carved from a single block by a local sculptor. The bathroom has polished plaster walls in red and turquoise and beautiful hand cut roman mosaics cover the floor. The kitchen is between the living room and the entrance hall, it is modern, comfortable and well fitted. The entrance hall is accessed from the courtyard and has the kitchen and living area to the left and a small guest bedroom to the right, a small but beautiful bathroom again in polished plaster and roman mosaic and stairs to a further guest bedroom upstairs with views over the garden and swimming pool.

On your right as you come into the courtyard is an independent guest wing with a spacious living room with fireplace and vaulted beamed ceiling and terracotta floors, bedroom, bathroom and fitted kitchen.

The entrance hall leads to a large covered terrace, perfect for outdoor dining and the garden beyond. The terrace runs along the south side of the living room and looks over the garden with its palm trees, pond and across to the river and down the Guadiaro valley. There is a walkway along the garden to a further guest cottage and steps up to the pool area. The guest cottage has a living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom all overlooking the garden.

The swimming pool area with its large square pool in dark mosaic, surrounding terracotta terraces, BBQ and seating area and a natural stone fountain or water feature. Steps lead up to the shaded, secluded gardens behind with its lawns and fruit trees.

The large plot has approximately 3 hectares of fertile land, perfect for either horses or planting with avocado trees. There is both mains water and water pumped from the river for garden and irrigation.

The property is under half an hours drive to Sotogrande and within an hours drive to Gibraltar.
